Would you take this Tudor Style Mansion?

It is celebrity home tour today… and it is Mel Gibson’s multi-million dollar mansion we are going to check out. This luxurious 16,000 sq ft Tudor-style mansion in Greenwich, Connecticut is on the market right now. It has 15 bedrooms and 17 bathrooms, a tennis court, a private pond, a landscaped driveway, a soaring cathedral ceiling, formal gardens, a terrace pool, greenhouse, stable, staff houses, log cabin, and even a maze. Hmmm… I say too big for my family, we are only three you know. But although this mansion is not quite my style, I still enjoy looking at its grandiosity. Is this your kind of a dream home? What can you say about owning a house as huge and as luxurious as this one?

  1. Wow! That is some mansion! A little big for my 2 cats and I, but I can appreciate its beauty! It looks like a castle!

  2. Not really....only if I had a staff of 30!! It looks a little dark for my taste. But certainly a showpiece!

  6. oh my it's like a replica of Hampton Court Palace complete with maze, I love all things tudor, the house and gardens are beautiful, but a little to big for me and hubby now the kids have flown the nest:-). I really love the iron gate that leads to the maze though.

Happy weekend, i'm off to look at your inspiration rooms, Kathy.

  9. Don't you just love how celebrities would buy mansions that are tucked away enough to keep strollers away, but big enough for the world to see?

  10. Hi Ann,
Would you be up for a link exchange with Completely Coastal!? I'm going ahead anyway and add this site to my blogroll..., it's inspiring, clean and simple... And I have seen one of these lavatory shell sinks (that you mentioned) in a picture, never one in real life though.

  12. No! It's way too big for me. I do like that little stone cottage at the back. I think I would be happy with that! Thanks for your comment on my site about the Vintage book! It was a great find wasn't it? I'm trying to add to my collection this weekend but so far no luck! xx

  15. I would love a bigger home definitely, but with just four in the family, I dont think I want 15 rooms. So, I'm afraid mel will just have to look elsewhere for a buyer.

Thanks for visiting me and for your comments. Much appreciated!

  17. Does Mel come with the property? Well, even if he doesn't, I think I could make it work!

  18. If it was given to me, I'd take it! I'm too practical to buy something like this, but I LOVE the exterior and the grounds. I've fallen in love with modern interiors though, so I'd have to do some redecorating :)
