This lovely Grace Kelly inspired Manhattan Apartment is designed by Jamie Drake. He is dubbed ‘King of Color’ by House Beautiful because of his extraordinary way of using colors to create stunning and livable spaces. Jamie Drake also designs furniture, fabrics, and various accessories. According to Drake Design, “The design of this Manhattan House apartment aspire to replicate the cool, unapproachable beauty of style icon Grace Kelly. Pale icy green frosts the foyer, living and dining rooms with piquant Kelly green accent panel in foyer. Refined, couture details such as the ruched trim on the shapely sofa reflect the impeccable manner in which she was always dressed”. Although pale icy green is the dominant color of this place it is interesting to note that this place is a mixture of hues and textures. Green evokes coolness and calmness and a dash of blue, pink, red and yellows help give this haven dynamism and chic. I so love the luxurious and beautifully designed fabrics and the elegant lamps and accessories used to enhance glamour and elegance in this already enchanting Manhattan Apartment.
If you were to choose a celebrity to inspire the design of your home, who would you pick? And why?
"precious manhattan apartment"
ReplyDeleteIf I were to design my house based on a celebrity's style I would choose Lady Diana, she always look so elegant, regal, and fresh. Maybe a few pieces of ballerina home accessories to pay tribute to her childhood dream and some luxurious floral fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI love the apartment. Let me see.... if I were to choose a celebrity I would have to pick Audrey Hepburn. Loved her in Funny Face!
ReplyDeleteWhat good choices of celebrities soleil and neutral dwelling.
ReplyDeleteI love Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday and Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Wow, I'm totally in awe of that apartment. Your header is super cute too! Thanks for the comment on my blog... and yeah, the shoes are a 9.5, but they just about fit me and I wear a 10. The girl I got them from said that they run a little bit big. Otherwise I would totally send them to you, first time visitor or not!
ReplyDeleteLove all of these interiors! I would choose Audrey Hepburn no question! I see a lot of other bloggers agree! Or if it was a modern day actress, I might pick Charlize Therson- her style is daring but at the same time classic!
ReplyDeleteI agree, very elegant. Particularly like the yellow covered chair, (shown from its back). I think I'd choose George Clooney as my inspiration. Obviously I like a masculine style, but I think he oozes elegance, and flair. Thanks for visitng my blog, and apologies for only today publishing your comments, but I didn't realise I now have a "moderate" facility and have to approve. Come back soon!
ReplyDeleteokay, i'm packing right now. put an offer in on the place for me...it's mine!
